Life. Liberty. Happiness.
Selected words from the opening line of Declaration of Independence that have been selectively applied. Look carefully and you can see the LIES. The irony that life, liberty, and happiness are “Truths to be self evident,” yet enslaved mothers, fathers, children of African descent couldn’t collect their birthright. Our people did not receive “freedom” until June 19, 1865, when slavery ended. This is why we celebrate Juneteenth, it’s our real Independence Day because the real self-evident truth is that we aren’t free until we’re all free.
