Shirley Chisholm for President Shirt

First and foremost, I absolutely love supporting Black-owned businesses and entrepreneurs. As a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., I was even prouder to purchase the "Shirley" shirt.

I gave it 3/5 because of the red velvet collar. I did not realize the texture when I placed the order. The shirt would be more attractive with a simple red collar in the same texture as the other parts of the shirt. Perhaps with some red stitching. I do, however, love my Marcus Garvey shirt! I want Harriet Tubman next, but no velvet collar... that is why I have not purchased it yet.

This shirt is powerful. It's a conversation starter that builds immediate trust, because IYKYK. I love the details that elevate it—velvet collar, embroidered accents. I've been asked where I got it by a Congresswoman, by jazz musicians, by working mothers and grandmothers. Rest in Power, Ms Chisholm! You are remembered.

Hi there - the design of this shirt is so gorgeous! Just for sizing purposes, I am a 10/12 in women's tops and I bought the small. It's good for a smaller, more cropped shape - just barely skims over the top of my hips. I wanted to wear it with baggier bottoms, so it suits me. My one thing is I wish it wasn't polyester. Maybe the graphic wouldn't have rendered so well on a cotton poplin, but I think the shirt would last longer and be more wearable. All that aside, it is the perfect piece for the midterms and forever.

Gorgeous piece! The fabric is such high quality and the colors are so vibrant and beautiful. The velvet colar really sets it off! I receive so many compliments every time I wear it! Definitely my new favorite top. It feels like wearing a piece of history!

Do not wear this shirt if attention makes you uncomfortable. I got stopped at the airport TSA (extra) just to get a better look at this shirt.
While the praise was nice, it did not top the sense of pride I felt while wearing/conveying the message of self-determination, political courage, system, equality, and the rejection of passive compliance. #unbought and #unbossed
