Inspired by Shirley Chisholm’s historic 1972 presidential campaign, this shirt honors the first Black woman to seek the nomination of a major political party for President of the United States. Her campaign challenged the status quo and redefined what leadership could look like for generations to come.
As the nation celebrates 250 years, we believe the story isn’t complete without recognizing the Black visionaries who fought to make America live up to its ideals.
